Washing a grounding sheet and checking conductivity
Wash your grounding sheet without fabric softener or bleach. Learn about care, wear and checking the cable and conductive fabric.
Follow your product label
Unplug and remove the cable before washing the fabric. The usual Earthle grounding bedding advice is 40 °C; the label and instructions for your version take precedence. Never wash cables or plugs. Avoid fabric softener and bleach, including ingredients already added to detergent.
Watch for products that leave residue
Fabric softener, fragrance boosters and dryer sheets may leave residue on the surface. Check your detergent packaging. Use a suitable mild detergent at the recommended dose. Aggressive cleaning products are not necessary for caring for conductive fabric.
How long does a grounding sheet last?
That depends on use, washing, friction and the condition of its connections. Age alone cannot support a fixed lifespan promise. Inspect the fabric and press stud and test conductivity in different areas. A failed reading may come from the cable or a loose connection; do not replace the entire sheet immediately.
Check the sheet and cable separately
Take resistance measurements only with the plug fully disconnected from the socket. Check the cable first, then the surface. The testing guide helps you assess the result. A wet sheet is not a fair comparison with an earlier measurement on dry fabric; compare under the same conditions.
Sleeping mats need different care
Sleeping mats, desk mats and yoga mats do not go in the washing machine. Wipe them with a lightly damp cloth and, if needed, diluted mild soap as instructed. Do not immerse them; let the surface dry before reuse. See materials by product or compare washable grounding bedding.
