You pull the fitted sheet tight around your mattress, the way you are used to. Silver thread runs through the organic cotton and makes contact with your skin. This one does have to fit exactly, so choose the size of your mattress.

What makes this special

Organic cotton

Cotton, no synthetics

What touches your skin is just cotton. It breathes, it feels like a sheet and it goes in the machine. No synthetic fibre, no coating, no film.

The silver thread

5% silver thread, woven in

That grid pattern is not a print. A real silver thread runs through the fabric, woven in as a grid. Silver conducts better than any other metal, so very little of it is needed.

The snap fastener

4.6 m cable

This is where the cable clicks on. It goes to the earth contact of your socket, never to the live. There is a resistor in the plug, so current can never run through your sheet.

Why a grid and not a sheet of metal

Breathes, washes at 40 degrees

You do not have to touch every square centimetre. A grid is enough to make contact, and the fabric stays breathable and soft. A solid conductive layer would cling and make you sweat.

This one does have to fit exactly

This one does have to fit exactly

Unlike the loose sheet, you pull this fitted sheet tight around your mattress. That is why the size does count here. Measure your mattress and choose after that.

The elastic edge takes mattresses 20 to 33 cm thick. If yours is thicker, the loose sheet is the better choice.

The check pattern is the silver thread

The check pattern is the silver thread

A grid of conductive silver thread runs through the organic cotton, woven and not printed. That grid is in contact with your skin all night.

An ordinary fitted sheet may go over it, but then there is fabric in between. Sleeping straight on it works best.

All the details

What you actually get

Your contact point with the bed changes as you turn in your sleep. A fitted sheet keeps the conductive surface spread across the mattress, so you do not have to stay on one narrow strip. Use it as the top layer, with your usual duvet above.

You can keep your pyjamas on, but let a bare arm or leg, for example, touch the sheet. Thick clothing and extra bedding can reduce contact. The sheet is not electrically heated: it connects you to earth through its grounding connection.

Connect

Connected in four steps

You are not connecting anything to the power. The cable goes only to the earth contact of a grounded outlet.

  1. 1

    Unpack

The fitted sheet, the earthing cable with plug and the scannable manual are in the packaging.

  2. 2

    Around your mattress

Stretch it tightly around the mattress. The elastic edge fits mattresses 20 to 33 cm deep.

  3. 3

    Plug in

The plug goes into an earthed socket. Only the earth contact is used, never the live.

  4. 4

    Sleep

It never slides away, so there is nothing left to adjust. Sleeping directly on it works best.

100k Ω
Inside

Inside the plug

The earth pin of your socket

The plug takes only the earth. That is the wire running from your house down to the earth rod in the ground. The socket does not even have to be switched on.

No mains voltage

The two holes the current normally comes out of are left untouched. There is no connection, so no current can run through your sheet or your mat.

100 kilo-ohm, you can measure it

In case a socket is ever wired wrongly, there is a resistor between the earth and you. Earthing works by equalising voltage, and that takes almost no current, so the resistor is not in the way. You can check it yourself with a multimeter.

One plug for everything

The same cable fits every Earthle product. If the socket is further away, you click the extension cable in between.

Most asked questions

Does the size have to be exact?

Yes. A fitted sheet goes around the mattress, so it has to fit. We carry 90 and 160 wide, with a corner depth of 30 cm. If your mattress is a different size, look at the loose sheet or the sleeping mat: those lie on top and may differ.

Does it fit a thick mattress?

The corners are 30 cm deep. With a topper on the mattress it can get tight; measure the total height first.

How do I wash it?

At 40 degrees, and with stains an occasional wash at 60 is fine. No bleach and no fabric softener: they settle on the silver thread and make it less conductive.

How do I connect it?

The earthing cable with plug is in the packaging. It goes into an earthed socket; only the earth contact is used, never the live wire. The plug contains a 100k ohm resistor.

And if I do not have a grounded outlet?

Then there are three ways. You push the earthing pin into the ground outside, with fifteen metres of cable running indoors. You clamp the alligator clip onto a bare radiator pipe or radiator. If the outlet is in another room, the fifteen metre extension cable bridges that. You will find all three under accessories.

Will I feel something straight away?

That differs from person to person. One person notices it the first night, another notices little or nothing. That does not mean nothing is happening: it is comparable to walking barefoot on grass, where you do not always feel anything either. You can read more about that in what you can feel and expect.

How long per day?

Thirty to forty minutes a day is already enough. Anyone who uses it in bed earths all night without trying. If you use it during the day, our blog has ten ways to fit it into your day.

Does it work through a sheet or clothing?

Direct skin contact works best. A thin sheet in between is fine, but the more fabric there is in between, the less contact you make.
