The earth pin of your socket
The plug takes only the earth. That is the wire running from your house down to the earth rod in the ground. The socket does not even have to be switched on.
No mains voltage
The two holes the current normally comes out of are left untouched. There is no connection, so no current can run through your sheet or your mat.
100 kilo-ohm, you can measure it
In case a socket is ever wired wrongly, there is a resistor between the earth and you. Earthing works by equalising voltage, and that takes almost no current, so the resistor is not in the way. You can check it yourself with a multimeter.
One plug for everything
The same cable fits every Earthle product. If the socket is further away, you click the extension cable in between.

You are not connecting anything to the power. The cable goes only to the earth contact of a grounded outlet.

The snap fastener fits every Earthle product: sheet, fitted sheet, duvet cover, pillowcase, blanket or mat.
Only the earth contact is used. There is a 100k ohm resistor inside the plug.
Set a multimeter to 200 kilo-ohm and measure between the snap fastener and the earth pin. You should read about 100.

The cable goes only to the earth connection of the outlet, never to the live wire. The plug also contains a 100k ohm resistor, so no current can ever run through the product.
No grounded outlet in the room? Then clamp the cable onto a radiator pipe, or push the earthing pin into the ground outside.

Most asked questions
The earthing cable with plug is in the packaging. It goes into an earthed socket; only the earth contact is used, never the live wire. The plug contains a 100k ohm resistor.
Then there are three ways. You push the earthing pin into the ground outside, with fifteen metres of cable running indoors. You clamp the alligator clip onto a bare radiator pipe or radiator. If the outlet is in another room, the fifteen metre extension cable bridges that. You will find all three under accessories.
That differs from person to person. One person notices it the first night, another notices little or nothing. That does not mean nothing is happening: it is comparable to walking barefoot on grass, where you do not always feel anything either. You can read more about that in what you can feel and expect.

Direct skin contact works best. A thin sheet in between is fine, but the more fabric there is in between, the less contact you make.
